You know, like any countryman who is ambitious to go far, I arrived in Havana. Well, I had always loved Havana because it was that place, the paradise we would get to, to realise all our dreams. Well, when I got to Havana, just imagine this countryman standing in front of the Capitol! That is the first picture of Havana – really impressive!

I feel an incredible love for Havana. Any place on the Malecón. I was in Paris last August and gave a concert in Lyon with my friend Yusa. It was hot and I had never experienced such a summer of dry heat. And I was quite desperate when I left and just wanted to get back to Havana and lie on the Malecón, which is what I did. As soon as I arrived, I lay down on the Malecón, and that air… There is something that comforts me and relax me in Havana: this is the Malecón, and I lie there on my back with my shirt off and it seems that I am completely cleansed of everything.
