“One of the best from the massive reggaeton scene in Cuba. I love Gente de Zona’s homage to a Cuban legend, Benny Moré.”
This reggaeton trio was founded by Alexander “Ale” Delgado in 2000 in an attempt to bring various Alamar-based rappers together to make music. The name Gente de Zona (‘neighbourhood people’) reflected the initial loose community of artists involved. Joined by Yosdany (‘Jacob Forever’) and Fernando Otero (‘Nando Pro’) in 2005, the group recorded its first album, scoring several hit singles and cementing its status as a leading exponent of ‘Cubaton’.
