Old Havana

I was born in Old Havana very near here in calle Villegas 476. Although I have to say that Havana is very dissolute and marginal in all regards, which is not the case in the Vedado or Nuevo Vedado or Miramar, I adore Havana. I recall that when we formed part of the Estado de Animo group, we would rehearse here, and this was the National Centre for the Visual Arts. I don’t know whether it still is now, and this Plaza Vieja has changed a lot over the past ten years. I have to say that it is beautiful and inspires me a lot and I always come here. This brasserie on the corner is somewhere where I believe you can always find me and I think that it is what I most adore about Old Havana.
