Free Hole Negro

CD 2 - Listos ’pa la lucha

“Free Hole Negro are a superb live collective, too, who touch into other musical areas.”

A collective born in Cuba in 1999 with a view to developing the influence and the spirit of Havana’s underground music. The name Free Hole Negro stands for ‘pure energy’ — a play upon words referring to the energy produced both by ‘black holes’ in space as well as by black beans (frijoles), an everyday Cuban food. Blending rap, son Montuno, reggae, drum & bass, rumba, mambo, hip hop and funk, they have created their own inimitable and unclassifiable style — the Free Hop.
