“When I first went to Cuba last year I met many musicians all of whom surprisingly had a fascination for the work of J Dilla, whose beats had somehow infiltrated the better sound systems of Havana! So to do a tribute track for him felt right, and what started off as a straightforward cover became our most ambitious tune. Coming in three parts and featuring a notable intro and a remarkable rap from Danay, plus great words from Obsesión, a beautiful trumpet from Yelfris Valdés and a hundred-mile-an-hour descarga climax, I think this will please many fans of obscure cover versions.”
